The Artisan of the Year Theme from 2023 to the summer of 2024.
Join this year's Artisan of the Year Project to celebrate your photography skills, honor Margo Kent's Legacy, and VPPA Photographic Excellence!
The VPPA Image Competition Committee is pleased to announce the Artisan of the Year Project, an annual image project with a yearly theme in honor of Margo Kent and celebrating VPPA talent. The schedule for the Artisan of the Year Project begins at the VPPA PhotoConnect Summer Seminar, with quarterly entry deadlines that occur in November, February, May, and August.
The final judging and award ceremony will take place at the PhotoConnect Summer Seminar. Current VPPA Members are eligible to participate and must commit to submitting 4 images, meaning one image each quarter.
Participants are allowed multiple entries per quarter with an additional fee. The entry fee cost for the year is $100 to participate. This entry fee includes the 4 entries for the year, covering one image per quarter. Those wanting to submit additional entries must pay an additional $100 for 4 more quarterly entries.
Please note, that entries must be a different image for each quarter.
Image entries will be judged by the following criteria: Image Quality, Creativity, Technical Excellence, and Impact. Judges assign scores out of 100 total points (25 total points per judging criteria). Scores will then be accumulated at the end of 4 quarters. At the PhotoConnect Summer Seminar, the VPPA Artisan of the Year Award is given to the highest overall score (400 is the highest possible score).
We look forward to your participation and let's make each image tell a story!
