The Profitable Business of Photo Organizing and Preservation
While we photographers have been obsessed with how to deal with clients who demand our digital files, we’ve been overlooking a new business-building opportunity that the digital age has placed right at our doorstep: photo organizing and preservation.
During Ann’s 90-minute program, she will cover the following topics:
· Understanding why photo-preservation experts are worried about the coming “Digital Dark Age” and how this relates to your ability to sell prints to your clients.
· The financial benefits of becoming “a trusted family advisor” to clients on how to deal with the avalanche of important family-history images that are hiding in their cell phones; or packed away in fragile scrapbooks, albums, and shoeboxes; or stuffed in drawers throughout the house; as well as the photos of ancestors inhabiting boxes and trunks in the attic.
· Using photos and video to create “institutional histories” for local businesses, industries and community organizations.
Ann is looking forward to sharing what she’s learned from experts in the emerging industry of photo organizing and how she is using that knowledge as a new studio business product line.
This 2Day worshop will be October 27 from 7-9m and October 28, 9-5pm

Customized Photoshop Class with an Emphasis on Composites
This class will be different. The theme will be composites but the class will cover a lot of things you need to know in order to do a composite. The class will also be student driven in that you are to tell me beforehand what you want to learn and that will become part of the agenda.
This class is designed to help you learn and improve your Photoshop skills exactly where you need to learn more because YOU are helping to design the course outline. The course will revolve around composites and there will be some Photoshop painting but from there, you will be the designer of this course. Pets are an important part of so many families today, so it makes sense to include them in our portrait sessions. Karen has worked with animals in different capacities for 20 years- from being a veterinary assistant for a regular veterinary practice and an emergency veterinary practice, to volunteering at the SPCA, to fostering and caring for adoptable pets. Photographing her furry, four-legged client has been primary goal for Karen’s business, and she is excited to share the unique techniques that have helped her become successful as a pet photographer.
Course Name: Photographing Pets with People
Description: Karen will discuss how to incorporate pets into your photography business. She will discuss tips and tricks that she has learned to capture the attention of animals in a way that brings out their personality; posing pets alone and with their people, safety with photographing pets, and marketing ideas.

The world of wide angle lenses, tilt shift lenses, drones, stabilizers, gear heads and more!
Real Estate Photography is only going to get Bigger. I run a team of real estate photographers, videographers, FAA Certified Drone operators, video editors. We have been in business for 3 years and are also REALTORS. So we have an edge on what real estate marketing needs to be done for REALTORS.
Our client base is around 185 REALTORS and counting with anywhere from 15-22 houses per week. This workshop will cover the equipment we use, the workflow from start to finish, the operational tools we use daily to deliver our products, the marketing, how we get leads, how to start photographing a home and what REALTORS expect from their real estate photography team.
My presentation will cover everything we do on a daily basis from scheduling to delivering of the photos and video to music selection and social media! We are a very fast paced team and deliver our product the same day. Weather delays, waterfront property, vacant homes, virtually staged homes, pets, REALTORS, homeowners and tenants are all part of our day. Our project will be a beautiful model home of Atlantic Builders in Fredericksburg which is a treat to photograph. We will cover the rooms to do and not do, the 2 point photo and 1 point photo, exterior photos and the difficult to get half baths. We will also show you how to use flash to assist in getting better color and clarity of your photos.
So bring your wide angle lens (somewhere between 10-35mm), your sturdy tripod, gear head if you have one or grip head will do and get to take some photos of this beautiful model home.
