George Joell is the owner and primary photographer at George Joell 3 Photography. He has been photographing weddings for over 16 years and has over photographed over 700 weddings. George has photographed weddings from the shores of California to the coast of North and South Carolina. Although weddings are his passion, he also photographs maternities, families, military and special events, headshots, and commercial projects.
While photographing client’s is George’s passion, he also enjoys sharing his knowledge and teaching other photographers. George has been teaching for the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Super One Day Classes for several years. He has also been a frequent speaker for the Photographic Society of the Triangle, Durham, NC and the Professional Photographers of North Carolina. George was invited to share his knowledge with other PPA affiliate organizations.
George is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), where he serves on the Board of Directors. He has been a member of the PPA since 2007. He is also a member of the Professional Photographers of North Carolina (PPNC). George is current on the Executive Board of Directors of the PPNC as the Treasure. He has been a member OF THE PPNC since 2008. George is also a member of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, where his company was name the Best Small Business of the Month in July of 2015.
George Graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Information System Management and Pierce College in Washington State with an Associates in Technology - General. He is also an Alumni of the PPNC East Coast School and the Texas School of Photography, where he studied under some of the top photographers in the world. George was recently awarded 1st Place in the Wedding Album Category during the PPNC 2018 Print Competition and Second Place in the Bride and Groom Alone Category. George also won 1st Place in the Category of Bride and Groom Alone in the 2017 PPNC Print Competition. George has earned his Honorary Associated Fellowship and Fellowship Degree from the PPNC. He has also earned the Craftsmen Photography Degree from the Professional Photographers of America and is currently working towards his Certification of Professional Photography and the coveted Masters of Photography Degree.
He is a retired Army Veteran with over 24 years of Service. George is married to the lovely Millie Joell and they have over 36 years of wedding bliss. They have two sons, two daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. They currently reside in Fayetteville, NC.
MASTERING THE ART OF WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Mastering the Art of weddings is a delicate balance between documenting the wedding day and creating impactful images that inspire, excite, and challenge the photographer as well as the viewer. You will learn how to visualize the wedding day like a blank canvas, and to slowly build the images that will ultimately become apart to the artistic design of the wedding album and wall portraits.
This class will take you from photographing the intricate details of the wedding to photographing the Bride and Groom in a very intimate and sensual way. You will learn the basics of lighting using speedlight, Strobes, and LED, balanced with natural light. This class with take you through many facets of posing individuals, couples, small groups, large families and bridal parties. You will be guided through the processes used to strategically and systematically photograph each phase of the bridal prep, wedding, formals and reception.
Photographing the wedding is only the beginning of the artistic process. Guiding your client through storytelling and visual cues enable you to get the images required to build an amazing wedding album or portrait.
Once the wedding images are selected and edited, you will learn how to artistically design the wedding album using Fundy Software. Designing the wedding album began the moment the client is booked. Therefore, what you say and how you say it will inevitably get you the images you need to fulfill your vision.
This is a hands-on class and you will have the opportunity to put into action what you have learned. So, bring your cameras, your smile, and an open mind, and lets create Art!
